About Aqua Mami International
Aqua Mami International is a Western Australia-based organisation dedicated to the growth and development of mermaid sport, underwater dance, and aquatic performance arts.
We welcome mermaids, athletes, performers, and ocean enthusiasts from all backgrounds and training systems. Our mission is to create an inclusive and supportive community where individuals can develop their skills, pursue their goals, and connect with opportunities both locally and internationally.
As a training and development organisation, Aqua Mami International provides pathways for beginners, recreational participants, performers, and competitive athletes. We support individuals seeking personal growth, professional development, performance experience, and competition opportunities within the global mermaid community.
While we currently offer internationally recognised certification programs through MFI (Mermaid Federation International) and PADI Mermaid, we are not limited to any single training system. We believe in collaboration, diversity, and continuous learning across the international mermaid industry.
In addition to training programs in Australia, Aqua Mami International regularly organises and participates in overseas training experiences, workshops, competitions, cultural exchanges, and professional development opportunities throughout Asia and beyond. These experiences allow our members to learn from international instructors, train in unique aquatic environments, and build connections within the global mermaid community.
Through partnerships, education, competitions, performances, and international exchange, Aqua Mami International aims to inspire confidence, creativity, athletic excellence, and a deeper connection with the ocean.

Why Aqua Mami International Was Established
Aqua Mami International was established to promote safe, professional, and responsible mermaid activities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
As mermaid activities continue to gain visibility, many participants enter the community through social media, photography, entertainment, or recreational interest without receiving structured education in aquatic safety, risk management, or performance standards.
We believe that mermaiding is more than simply wearing a mermaid tail. It is an aquatic activity that requires appropriate training, safety awareness, environmental responsibility, and professional development.
Our mission is to provide participants with access to internationally recognised education systems, safety-focused training, professional development pathways, and opportunities for competition and performance.
By combining mermaid education, underwater dance, aquatic safety, and international standards, Aqua Mami International aims to support the development of a safer, more knowledgeable, and more professional mermaid community.
We believe that every participant should have the opportunity to experience the magic of mermaiding in a safe, supportive, and professionally managed environment.
